I am for sale! I will run the Singapore Marathon 2006 for $1/km for my adopted charity for 2006.
This donation will go to Handicaps Welfare Association
HWA provides transport, rehabilitation, welfare and education programmes for people with physical disabilities, to facilitate their integration into society. And it does this without big charity organization backing with the likes of NKF etc.
For those who are willing to make a pledge, we will make a deal. You will pledge $1 for each km i run in the Singapore Marathon. That will make it $42, a donation to Handicaps Welfare association to help people with disabilites.
If I dont complete the marathon, you can choose not to make the donation. Thats our deal. No complete marathon, you dont need to make the donation. Simple!
I aim to raise $500 and so far I have raised $150 with Robin and Jiehong pledging the highest amount.
Quote from Jiehong's blog
Run for a cause for the coming Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2006 ! I’m pledging $1 for every KM that Dave will be running.
He said he will quit smoking, he did !
He said he will complete a 42KM marathon, well he will !

Good luck on your quitting smoking! I know how difficult it is to quit. It was probably the hardest thing in the whole world to do. I also used the Nicotine gum, and it worked very well! They make quite a range now, and have better flavors today. I didn't like the kind that tasted like a full ashtray. Good luck in all your competitions. I'd like to share a story about a friend of mine, Shad Ireland. He is quite an inspiration. I worked with Shad many years ago. I hope his story will be a valuable to you as it was for me. Keep up the good work!
